Dropsuite — SaaS Backup and Email Archiving

Protect your customers’ Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace data and complement backup with email archiving to address retention and discovery needs.

Dropsuite

Back up data and preserve communications

Dropsuite combines SaaS data protection with email archiving capabilities. For resellers, MSPs and integrators, these address two distinct needs: recovering lost data and preserving searchable communications for audits or investigations.

Dropsuite is now part of NinjaOne. Its technology continues as NinjaOne SaaS Backup.

  • Microsoft 365: automated, immutable backups for Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Google Workspace: protection for Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Contacts, with granular point-in-time recovery.
  • Microsoft Entra ID: backup and recovery for the identity management environment.
  • QuickBooks Online: backup and recovery of supported financial data.

This overview describes the vendor’s portfolio. It does not mean that all these services are included in a single subscription or available through the MC3 Cloud catalogue.

Understand the difference between backup and archiving

Backup helps recover data after loss or deletion.

Email archiving, available with Archiver, focuses on preserving communications and finding them during an audit, legal case or investigation. It supports Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace email.

Real-time journaling captures incoming and outgoing messages, attachments and metadata, preserving communications even when they have been deleted from the mailbox.

Find and preserve relevant messages

Archiver enables organisations to:

  • Search communications across email content, attachments and sender or recipient details.
  • Save searches and use tags to streamline recurring investigations.
  • Receive alerts when new messages match saved search criteria.
  • Define retention policies by user, department or domain. The vendor describes retention from 30 days to over a decade, or indefinitely.
  • Apply legal holds to prevent relevant data from being deleted during litigation by suspending applicable retention rules.
  • Use audit trails to track operations.

Protect archives and control access

The vendor documents immutable WORM storage, AES-256 encryption and TLS 1.2, multifactor authentication and role-based access controls for Archiver. The service runs in the cloud, with no on-premises archiving infrastructure to install.

These capabilities support data governance and retention practices. They do not, on their own, guarantee regulatory compliance for the customer.
