Define the policies before deploying them
Which documents must remain confidential? Which sharing practices need controls? What data should be retained or deleted, and under which policies?
MC3 Cloud helps you translate your customers’ requirements into Microsoft Purview configurations. You gain access to specialist expertise to deliver these projects without having to build every capability in-house.
We review how data is used, identify sensitive information and assess existing protections. Together with your team, we define classification levels, sharing rules and retention requirements. The relevant stakeholders within your customer’s organisation approve the requirements and retention periods.
Configure protection and retention
Depending on the agreed scope, our teams can handle:
- Classification and sensitivity labels: define categories, configure the associated protections and establish how labels are applied manually or automatically.
- Data loss prevention — DLP: identify risky scenarios and configure appropriate warnings or restrictions.
- Retention: implement retention and deletion rules that reflect the approved policies.
The project covers agreed use cases across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Scoping establishes which capabilities can be used and the licensing prerequisites.
Test, document and hand over
Deployment is phased, with a pilot to test policies and assess their impact on everyday work. Adjustments are made before the wider rollout.
Your team receives configuration documentation, test results and knowledge transfer. These materials help document the controls implemented to support compliance activities and audits; they do not constitute regulatory certification.
Periodic reviews, ongoing policy monitoring and recurring reporting are covered by a separate Managed services engagement.
Example scenario
An MSP supports a business that wants to better protect its HR documents. MC3 Cloud helps define their classification, configure protection and sharing rules, and apply the approved retention periods. The policies are tested with a pilot group before rollout.
