Microsoft Cost and License Optimization

Help your customers control Microsoft 365 and Azure spending, from selecting the right licenses to implementing cost-saving changes.

Microsoft 365: find the right license mix

Buying more licenses does not necessarily mean meeting business needs more effectively. Our teams review subscriptions, actual usage and business requirements to recommend the right combination for each user profile.

We identify unused licenses, duplicate add-ons and opportunities to consolidate purchases into a Microsoft 365 suite. We also assess third-party tools whose capabilities may already be covered by existing Microsoft subscriptions.

The goal is not always to select a cheaper license. A more comprehensive suite may lower overall spending by replacing several tools, provided it meets functional requirements and the transition costs make sense.

Azure: rightsize resources and commitments

We review consumption to identify unused resources, oversized workloads and consolidation opportunities.

We compare Azure reservations and savings plans, including 1- or 3-year commitments, based on service eligibility and predictable usage. Existing commitments are factored in to avoid overlapping coverage.

Technical adjustments are assessed before any new commitment is purchased: it is better to rightsize the environment than commit to unnecessary consumption.

From recommendations to implementation

You receive a prioritized action plan outlining potential savings, operational impacts and implementation requirements. Once your team approves the plan, we carry out the agreed changes: adjusting licenses, consolidating tools, optimizing resources and putting the selected commitments in place.

Contract renewal dates, security requirements and continuity of service are considered throughout. Periodic reviews track realized savings and identify where recommendations need to change.

Optimization examples

  • Replace overlapping tools: a business uses Microsoft 365 Business Premium, while also paying for separate device management and endpoint protection tools. We assess whether Microsoft Intune Plan 1 and Microsoft Defender for Business, already included in the suite, can replace them. If they meet the requirements, we carry out the agreed transition.
  • Match licenses to user profiles: review a uniform license allocation, retain advanced capabilities where needed and recommend more appropriate licenses for other users.
  • Optimize Azure before committing: rightsize underused resources, then assess a reservation or savings plan against the remaining consumption.

These scenarios illustrate potential optimization opportunities; savings are not guaranteed in every case.
